What is Foot Zoning?

Welcome! My name is Kerri Andersen. I am a licensed foot zone therapist. Most people I've met are clueless as to what foot zoning actually is, so hopefully this blog will help! Please contact me if you have any other questions.

Foot zoning is a powerful, natural healing tool. It can help the body heal and balance itself physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. When your body is balanced, it can heal itself more efficiently. The human body is designed to filter out the build up of toxins and wastes which can cause health problems. Foot zoning aids the bodies natural filtering and cleansing system.

What Are Some Possible Benefits of Foot Zoning?

The foot zone technique treats the body as a whole and doesn’t treat specific diseases or problems but rather balances the whole body to bring it to a state of homeostasis. Although I cannot claim direct healing effects and cures, I have seen remarkable results during and after a session.

How often should I be zoned?

It varies for everyone.
As a general rule I suggest once a month, but sometimes your body will need more frequent appointments. After zoning you and getting a feel for your body's energy and balance, I will give you a suggested time for your next zone. Eventually each client will be in tune enough with their bodies to be able to feel and know for themselves when their body needs a foot zone.

How long does it take?
Your first appointment will probably be around an hour and a half. After that about an hour. However, it varies on a case by case basis. There is no extra charge for longer appointments.

Is it Painful?
It may be slightly uncomfortable on the areas that need the most work, but it doesn't "hurt". This may sound weird, but it is almost "good" pain and never unbearable. For someone with a lower pain tolerance, I may skip the area or apply much less pressure. Don't worry, no one has ever 'quit' a zone :)

How it has helped me:
My first pregnancy was absolutely dreadful. I was sick every day for 9 months. I had no energy. I was so ridiculously hormonal and emotional. My husband probably wanted to run! I love my baby and wanted to have many more but was scared to go through pregnancy again.

My second pregnancy was MUCH different. I started getting foot zoned every month, and the changes were unbelievable. I was sort of sick the first trimester- but not nearly as bad as the first time around. Then, after the first trimester, the sickness went away! The rest of my pregnancy I felt great. I hardly ever felt like I had to take a nap. And the best part for me was that, for the first time in my life, I felt what it was like to be emotionally balanced. I no longer got moody. I didn't cry over ridiculous things. I felt happy, energized, and like the best version of myself. I always just told myself that I was an emotional person, and that's just the way I was. I had no idea I could even feel so balanced. It was a life-changing realization.

This was during a particularly stressful part of my life as well because my husband was away with the military for five months. My car got rear ended, health insurance was a mess, and my toddler went through a very long phase of not sleeping very well at night. Despite all this, I was the happiest I've ever been and I barely even noticed I was pregnant! It was amazing.

I remember the moment that my body truly started to crave a foot zone. I woke up and felt exhausted and grumpy. I had zero energy and had no idea how I was going to take care of my 20 month old child. There were a few very stressful things I was dealing with and I just wasn't doing great! My aunt offered to give me a foot zone (my fifth one in five months) and after she finished it was like my body and my spirit were shouting for joy! I immediately felt 100% better and was ready to tackle the day. I ran errands and did everything I needed to do. That was the day that I realized, WOW, what an amazing tool. I'm so grateful I'm learning this so I can help my family feel healthy, balanced, and their best selves!

My hope is that I can provide healing to others who are struggling. Whether it be physical ailments, emotional problems (trapped emotions), mental struggles (negative thoughts, etc.), or spiritual issues. I've had many experiences already where people have thanked me because of how the zone positively affected them and it is the greatest feeling to be able to help people.
